Spring has sprung and so has live music venues with schedules popping!

After more than 5 years, Rogers returns to a favored venue in the Bay the Freight & Salvage in Berkeley. This spring he just returned from doing dates with the indominable Bonnie Raitt in the Southwest, after joining her “Just Like That” tour, as he did in 2023 as well.  RR opened solo acoustic with Bonnie, as well as joining her band for some songs at the end of her set including the song they wrote together titled “Gnawin’ on It” which also won a Grammy nomination (Best Female Rock Vocal). Big fun.

As fans know, Roy Rogers is considered one of the world’s preeminent master Delta slide guitarists.  He’s the guy who loves to push the envelope. With over 20 recordings to his credit, Rogers has garnered 8 Grammy nominations for producing, as a recording artist, and as a songwriter.  His collaborations have garnered major media accolades globally for producing critically acclaimed Grammy nominated recordings for John Lee Hooker and Ramblin' Jack Elliott, as well as collaborations with Bonnie Raitt, Carlos Santana, Bela Fleck, Allan Toussaint, Sammy Hagar & Ray Manzarek among others.

Joining RR on this date are his long-time band members: Steve Ehrmann (bass), Kevin Hayes (drums), and Jimmy Pugh (keys).  Pugh is a stellar keyboardist who has performed or recorded some of the greats including Boz Skaggs & Van Morrison.  His Little Village Foundation just garnered over 10 Blues Foundation Awards with new recordings in blues.
